Good morning, Llamaland! Welcome to the final recap of the year.
In case you missed it, we drafted Ryan’s Lost Caverns of Ixalan last night at Helms Deep. Then we engaged in a full-blown, double elimination tournament (single hands).
Round One byes: Will, Levi
Round One results: Alex over Austin, Ryan over Walker.
Round Two: Alex over Levi, Will over Ryan
Round Three: Alex over Will.
That was the Winner’s Bracket. Meanwhile, in the Loser’s Bracket, Ryan worked his way back to the top, defeating Austin, Walker and Will.
In the finals, we had a tug of war. Ryan first defeated Alex, putting them both at one loss. Then in the playoff, Alex won the rematch for the last Llama win of the Season. It was epic.
Wrapping up the season, here are your Gold, Silver and Bronze winners:
Ryan 10 wins
Alex 8 wins
Will 5 wins
We ended up playing 21 tournaments (and nearly as many pickup games). In the 15 years of Llamas, this was probably the most active group … let’s keep it up next year. We’ll see who can challenge Ryan for 2024 Gold Medal.
Speaking of next year, there are a couple of Role Adjustments that will either begin or continue into next year. As you already know, King Ryan has taken over management of the Clone Sets. His Royal Highness has lots of deviant ideas on where to take the collection. Meanwhile, Alex, the Great, is assuming the Role of Rules Master. He will organize and manage the Rules, keep up with the winners and losers. He will also announce the Rules in advance of each contest. Will will continue to pen the Recaps.
In addition to these adjustments, we will continue to build and grow the Llama website Lot’s of exciting stuff going on. Can’t wait for the coming year.
And to all the players and the gallery of friends and family who follow the Llama Group: Merry Christmas!!!!!
