Happy 2024, LLAMALAND!!!!
I hope you all had a great holiday break. I know I did. Lots of food and family and celebrating a pretty special birthday.
After King Keysar mopped the floor with us last year, I think we were all eager to wipe the slate clean and begin anew … which is exactly what we did last night at Pemberton Palace.
We were drafting Titus’ Lord of the Rings, which has proven to be fun and balanced. We opted to play 1v1 round robin. There were boatloads of orcs, as well as a bunch of scrying (crying, too).
When the proverbial dust had settled, Will walked away with the first win of the year, courtesy of Anduril, Flame of the West. On the other end of the spectrum, Walker volunteered for the first pig of the year. I think he plans to donate it to his in-laws’ BBQ menu. Alex, Ryan, Austin H, and Titus were (appropriately) left to wander Middle Earth.
After the tourney, we opted to play a little emperor (Napoleon?). Team Titus, Walker, Austin came out hot and heavy against team Will, Ryan, Alex. Alex dealt some damage before drowning a flood of Merfolk. Walker cheated two colossus hammers out but split them among his minions. This momentary delay allowed Ryan to stabilize his control suite. After that, the visiting team whittled away toward a hard fought victory.
Great fun, great times! Thanks to Titus for hosting.
I’m am eagerly looking forward to our next adventure.
Alex will be sending out the “Look Ahead” in the near future … he has take over the rules wrangling this year. See ya soon!
