Great times at Hollingsworth Hacienda last evening … no surprise there.
What was surprising is that, in the third and final round of “King of the Hill”, Ryan’s “Aw, Rats” stumbled for the first time in the series. In an unexpected turn of events, Will’s mono-black “Desperate Times” ended up king of the hill in week 3. Austin Bell bad-lucked his way into the pig.
That left Ryan, Alex, Brandon, and Levi wandering around in Middle Earth.
To Recap the Three Part Series:
Week One – Ryan’s mono-black Rat deck won and Brandon took the pig.
Week Two – Ryan’s mono-black Rat deck won and Walker took the pig.
Week Three – Will’s mono-black Hippie Spec deck won and Austin B took the pig.
Individual Win Talley – Ryan (10 wins), Alex (8), Austin and Will (7), Walker and Brandon (3), Levi (2 (but he only played one night)).
So, weekly wins went to Ryan, Ryan, Will … and – as a bonus – Ryan (by rule) gets two additional season wins for winning the most games. Still the King!
After the tourney, we played two games of Emperor. In game one, team Ryan, Levi and Will put the “Eldrazi” on team Brandon, Austin and Alex. In game two, team BAA put the Eldrazi on Team RLW. Twas hilarious to watch Ryan try to Mill Brandon only to have those “shuffle back into your library” Eldrazi studs defeat the attempt. Fun times.
The calendar says we’ll play again on 11/30. It’s Titus’ turn to host (I’ll need to confirm that). We will do some type of draft.
Between now and then, y’all eat lots of Turkey and enjoy your family time.
